The ushers are a group of volunteers who at each Mass are responsible for greeting parishioners and making them feel welcome. They also assist with seating as needed and taking up the collections. In many cases they assist handicapped in having them receive the Eucharist. At the end of Mass they hand out the bulletins. The time they spend is generally during their regular attendance at Mass.
Greeting people and making them feel welcome is an important part of creating a warm and loving parish atmosphere. Helping people receive the sacraments, find seating, and offer their support is a true service to individuals and to the parish.
Being an usher not only helps our congregation, it offers an easy opportunity to get to know other people in the parish. Please contact us if you are interested in this ministry.
